The sand drips,
on and on, down the narrow neck.
The hourglass
watches in impassive silence,
dispatches the moments
way beyond my reach.
My moods swing
as they will,
they rise, they fall,
no hourglass’ terrible one way journey for them.
One moment I lose hope,
the next I am floating,
far beyond,
soaring into utopia.
My body is laid somewhere
in-between.
I feel the drag
as the grains of sand log
the passage of time.
And I taste the freshness,
the freedom and joys of life.
as my moods drift beyond the eagle’s wings.
I soar farther, higher,
The hourglass diminishes.
I will kiss it no more than
once.
